A heart’s confession

A heart’s confession

Forgive my pride, my anger, and my fear,

For they have built the walls that kept you out.

But know my love for you remains sincere,

Despite the pain, the sorrow, and the doubt.

I long to hold you close, to hear your voice,

To feel your warmth, a balm upon my soul.

For though the path of love was once my choice,

Its loss has left me far from being whole.

Do you remember nights beneath the stars,

The whispered dreams, the promises we made?

For though our hearts are marked with love’s deep scars,

The memories refuse to ever fade.

If you would let me, I would start anew,

And build a love that’s worthy, strong, and true.
