It was early in the Morning in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. Marion was already awake, getting her husband’s things ready, for him to go for his meeting very early at the office. He woke up, when she was ironing his suit.
“good morning Anthony. Your towel is in the bathroom, and I’ve got other things ready for you to leave for the office in time. It only remains this suit, and i will finish ironing it quickly” Marion said, smiling, but Anthony didn’t say a word. He just left for the bathroom.
In the afternoon, Marion had gone to visit her parents, and she took a cab to return to Anthony’s villa.
At Anthony’s house, Anthony was inside his bedroom with another woman named Sandra, having an affair. Unknown to him, Marion was going to be back soon. Marion arrived at the house, and walked in slowly. When she opened the door of her room, she was shocked to see her husband having an affair with Sandra. She was speechless and shocked.
Anthony and the woman whom he was with, were shocked because they thought they had locked the door. After a minute, Marion said nothing. She just walked to another room. Anthony followed her, standing and not knowing what to say. Marion finally rose to speak.
“can you just answer my question? What have I done to deserve this? Did i not respect you? Did i not love you? Did i not do anything for you? Why did you have to do this! Anthony, i will never forgive you for this. You are a betrayed my trust in you! I kept quiet when i caught you, but not because I can’t speak. This time, every one is going to hear of this if you don’t give me a reason for doing this to me” Marion spoke in tears and Anthony starred at her in shock. After some seconds, Anthony began to talk.
“you want to tell everyone about this right? Fine! Go tell everyone” Anthony said and Marion was so shocked at his boldness.
“read this” Anthony said and Marion collected the paper, reading it in shock. It stated divorce paper which made Marion shocked and more confused.
“divorce paper? But how did this happen? How did my signature get here? Marion asked on shock.
“you signed on this paper three days ago, but i decided to be patient till today” Anthony said and Marion began to remember something.
FLASHBACK
Marion was asleep and Anthony woke her up to sign some paper. With sleepy eyes, she gave her signature.
PRESENT.
“i am very sorry Marion, but i had to do this. All the blame should be put on my parents. Even after living with you for six years, i am still unable to love you. That’s i came up with the plan of getting you divorced, so that I can be happy with Sandra, the woman i truly love. I know you may be hurt, but you should have no other option but to forget me, and
move on with your life” Anthony said and left.
Isabella, marion’s six year old daughter was watching from a distance. Marion just sat on the floor, shocked and speechless. She began to remember some scenes in the past.
FLASHBACK.
“Marion, you are so lucky that your parents and friends of anthony’s parents. He is a very rich guy” Marion’s friend said.
FLASHBACK SECOND SCENE.
“Marion, Anthony has finally agreed to marry you! Marion’s mother gave the good news and Marion hugged her happily.
FLASHBACK THIRD SCENE.
Marion was with her two friends, discussing.
“wow! Our Marion has got her prince charming. Isn’t it amazing” the first friend teased and Marion blushed.
“of course it’s amazing. I am sure she’s already dreaming of their wedding” the second friend teased.
“yes. I am already dreaming of the day i will finally become anthony’s wife. I will wake up early in the morning and say, good morning love. We will tease and play with each other before he goes to work. And when he comes back, i will surprise him with delicious meals, and while eating, he would say to me, ‘won’t you join me dear? Then i would blush and say, ‘i am not hungry’. And do you know what he will do? He will refuse to eat, only then i will agree to eat. Then he would sit me down and feed me like am a baby” Marion said, smiling.
“oh! So romantic” her friend teased.
FLASHBACK THIRD SCENE:
After the wedding.
“dear Anthony, i know you love someone else, but i am not worried about that. Don’t worry, now that we are married, i will be the best wife you want, and then you would finally get to love me” Marion said to Anthony, smiling. Anthony was forced to smile back at her.
PRESENT.
Marion thought about all these, smiling sadly. She lay on the floor, as she remembered Anthony’s recent words, she wept bitterly with a broken heart.
