Diana was in a deep slumber when she felt a huge urge to pee. She had visited the lavatory more than ten times before she finally slept. However, the urge she felt at the moment was different from how she had always felt. This time around, the urge was accompanied by cramps. She wanted to wake Kenny up, but she decided not to. Could be, it was just a small problem.
She pulled herself out of the bed and dragged herself to the washroom. She didn’t look behind, perhaps, she would have spotted the spot of blood that had stained the white bedsheet, exactly at the position which was hers, the left side of the bed. She just couldn’t wait to get there, and right, just a few minutes later, she sat on the toilet seat, breathing out a little sigh as she finally let the pee out. To her shock, she felt something heavy streaming out of her and this forced her to just peep, only to see a human-like body covered in blood.
She sent out a loud and scary cry of shock, mixed with pain which woke her husband up. Wondering what the problem could be, he rushed towards the call of the voice. Diana was on her knees, staring at something in the toilet. He rushed, and seeing the thing, he quickly suspected it was their baby. Not minding about wearing gloves, he dived his hands into the toilet, and pulled the baby out, and ordered Diana to bring all the bedsheets that they had, in which they covered it, and rushed immediately to the hospital.
The nurse, on duty at that time quickly attended to them, but she found out there is nothing much she could do.
“I’m sorry ma’am, your baby is gone.” The nurse announced, a few minutes later.
“No…no..no…tell..tell..me it’s a joke.” Diana pleaded her eyes all red.
‘It’s true, Ma’am. We couldn’t save her. She was too young. 5 months only. I’m so sorry.” Diana wailed, and her wails echoed throughout the whole hospital. Her husband, who had stood, in great shock had no idea what he could do at that moment. He wished all this, could turn out to be a dream. One thing he realized, his wife, his dear Diana was running crazy. If he didn’t do something, soon, she would lose her mind.
“Diana, you need to calm down.”
“Calm down? Our baby is gone and you tell me to calm down. You are the reason why all this happened…if…if at all you hadn’t met that woman…my baby would be okay.” Diana cried.
“Shhhhhhh!! That happened a month ago, and I did promise you never to meet her. So, you can’t blame me for now.” Kenny said, in defence.
“Go…go away from me. Go to your woman. I promise you this Kenny I will never forgive you. I will never forgive both of you.” Diana cried. Kenny had no idea how he could save the situation. He was sorry he had hurt Diana, he had fallen into temptation with a woman older than him and Diana had found out, early enough before they had gone far. However much he tried explaining to Diana that nothing had happened between them, that they had only met two weeks back and actually no chemistry had happened between them, it was hard for her to believe it. Later on, she accepted the whole truth.
To his surprise now, Diana blames him for the loss of their baby. After a full month had passed. Was he really to blame? He wondered.
“You need me, and I need you too. We have lost our precious jewel, so it’s not only you in pain.” Kenny told her, as he moved forward but the look on her face scared him away. He had last seen that look, the day Diana found out about the other woman.
“This is the end of us, Kenny. What is there to connect us now? huh? Nothing. I’m done with you. I’m done with your crap, I’m done with your cheating, I’m done with everything about you. I forgave you, because of my baby. Now that she is no more, I am done. I’ll be filing for a divorce immediately after my baby’s burial.”

“No, you can’t do that, Dee. I never loved the other woman. Never. I love you. You can’t walk out of my life, just like that.” Kenny said, almost breaking down. Nevertheless, Diana, without any other word had walked out of the hospital. It was in the wee hours of the night. She had no idea where she was going. Kenny came, running after her, pleading that she shouldn’t at all walk alone but his words fell on deaf ears. He decided, come what may, he was not going to allow his wife to walk away. He ran in front of her. He thought he had to be a man now, and very serious.
“You are not walking down these damn streets alone, hear me?” He barked. Diana stopped and looked at him with furry.
‘Get out of my way, Ken.”
“No, I won’t. Okay fine. I admit being at fault, but I still love you, and if anything happened to you, I will be to blame. I’ll let you be if our divorce process is done but now, turn back, let’s go back to the hospital, and plan for our daughter’s burial and I am very serious, girl.”
“I’m not going anywhere with you.” Diana spat. Well, to Kenny, if peace failed, force would then apply. He grabbed Diana by the hand and started pulling her backward, fighting, but she was less strong than Kenny, there was no much she could do. She decided to give him a bite on the hand that held her arm. Kenny felt the pain…he felt her teeth digging deep into his skin, and he decided to carry her back to the hospital. She kept struggling all the way until he succeeded locking her inside the car.
‘I hate you Kenny…I detest the day I met you. Get me out of here!!!!!” She roared, between her teeth, but Kenny did not listen. She banged the car windows so hard, her mind was telling her to break them up…yeah, and it would hurt Kenny the right way…
“Honey…Dee? Why are you punching me? She had a voice echoing through her sleep, and when she finally opened her eyes, Kenny was sitting on the bed, staring lovingly at her.
“What?”
“You have been punching me, what have I done?” and that’s when she made a thorough look at her tammy. Her baby was there. Tears started running down her face.
“Honey! What is wrong?”
‘I’m sorry, love. I had a terrible dream. Our baby was gone.”
